Evergreen shrub that can grow to 30 cm in height. Has small lanceolate leaves curled. The stem is woody and branches are ascendant. The flowers are grouped in dense pale pink blooms. Thyme vulgaris ct thymol is one of the 6 thyme chemotypes identified by Passet, Granger and Vernet. It grows in the south of France (mainly in Provence) in calcareous soils.
